I just started reading her book "My Life in France" and one of the first stories she told was about the first meal she made for Paul after they were married. She attempted to make brains so that she could impress him and it turned out to be a complete disaster. I loved that she never tried to pretend that she was perfect. It shows such great character when you can admit that you made mistakes in life but that you keep on trying. She was a great woman.

Thanks for the reminder about Julia's late start. At age 42 I didn't start cooking but I've discovered it as an art form. Julia rocks!
